All-Church Worship

Hope Chapel hosts All-Church Worship Sundays approximately every six weeks (about eight times each year). On these Sundays, children ages 4 through 5th grade remain in the worship service for its entirety, while children ages 0–3 begin the service with the congregation before being dismissed to the nursery midway through.

We believe these Sundays are a gift to our whole church family. For our children, they provide the opportunity to participate in the ordinary means of grace alongside the congregation—confession and assurance, prayer, the reading and preaching of God's Word, weekly communion, and congregational singing. Just as importantly, they allow our youngest members to witness and learn from the worship of God's people.

These Sundays are also a gift to parents. Few moments are more significant than sitting beside our children as they encounter the things of God with the people of God. These gatherings create space for parents to disciple their children in the rhythms of worship, helping them ask questions, participate, and grow together as a family. We also recognize that worshiping with young children requires extra patience and effort, which is why we schedule All-Church Worship Sundays only eight times each year.

We also believe these Sundays strengthen our entire congregation. Jesus taught that we must become like little children, and the church is healthiest when every generation worships together. The joy, curiosity, honesty, and simple faith of our children remind all of us what it means to come before God with humble hearts.

Finally, these Sundays provide a meaningful rhythm of rest for the many volunteers who faithfully serve in Hope Kids week after week. With nearly 200 people serving on a six-week rotation—many for years—these Sundays give our volunteers the opportunity to worship alongside the rest of the church family and participate fully in the service.
